Like many of us, I was sad to hear about Erika's Deli closing late last year as it was becoming a good, local Mexican restaurant option. I spoke with one of the owners at the Holiday Stroll and she left me know they hoped to re-open in January. So I was excited to hear today that they are now back as La Estanica and have re-opened. Here's the scoop from the Riverside Economic Development Commission Facebook page: Riverside, did you miss your tacos and tamales? We have good news! Erika's has reopened with a new name "La Estancia"! If the cold is keeping you away, they will be offering *free tacos* on Friday after 5 PM as part of their grand re-opening. Bundle up and hurry in before they're gone. #tacos #laestancia #ShopLocal They will be open from 8:30 am to 8 pm initially and will adjust their hours as needed. I know we'll be dining there again real soon. Hope you'll do the same and give them a try! Follow our Live Here Riverside Facebook page to catch all our new posts & updates. Local artist & long-time Riverside resident Laurie Redden Risley will be hosting an open house featuring her new Riverside series on November 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th. Here's Laurie: Take a few moments from your day, and join me for a cup of coffee/tea or glass of wine! Along with my usual Redden art, I will be showcasing a years worth of work celebrating Riverside. Framed limited edition prints ($175 -$300) - memorable art for that young adult that grew up in Riverside! Original oils on canvas ($250-$1500). Erika's Deli is back in action with new owners and focus on authentic Mexican cuisine. Located at 25 Forest Ave right in downtown Riverside, the new owners are quickly making a name for themselves and are open 11 am to 8 pm everyday. The tamales & tacos were delicious and it's become a regular lunch spot for me as you can either eat in the restaurant or take it to go. The owners have already updated the menu and are adding more items so be sure to let them know if you have suggestions of items you'd like to see. If you haven't already, be sure to give our newest restaurant in town a shot. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
