While turning back our clocks by an hour might result in a serious lack of daylight, it also means the holiday season is right around the corner. So let's cure those darkness blues with some fun upcoming holiday events, shall we? The 2017 Riverside Holiday Stroll hosted by the Riverside Chamber of Commerce will be held on Friday, December 1st, starting at 5:30 pm. Highlights of the event in years past have included caroling, live entertainment, pony rides, the tree lighting, and a visit from Santa himself with an opportunity for pictures with the big guy. Here is the flyer from last year's Stroll so you can get a sense of all the great options the event offers: It's a wonderful event with a little bit of something for everyone that kicks off the holidays. The event also highlights all of our local small businesses which I hope you'll keep in mind for your shopping this holiday season and all year round. On Saturday, December 9th, the Riverside Junior Woman's Charity (RJWC) presents Jingle, Jolly, Gingerbread, their annual breakfast with Santa event at Riverside Township Hall on the 2nd floor. Here's the scoop: Children and their grown-up guests will enjoy delicious breakfast treats, create beautiful art projects, make Rudolph's favorite reindeer food, play super fun games & meet Santa himself. A very special thank you to Joey of Little Bitty Productions for capturing a professional photo of Santa with your little ones. There are two sessions - 8:00 am to 10:00 am and 10:30 am to 12:30 pm - and tickets are on sale now. If you're interested, I'd suggest you get your tickets RIGHT NOW. The event is already 70% sold out and will sell out. Tickets are $10 for kids which includes a photo with Santa and adults are free. Donations to support the RJWC are also welcome.
I hope to see you all at both of these great holiday events right here in Riverside. Follow our Live Here Riverside Facebook page to catch all our new posts & updates. You can now also subscribe to the Live Here Riverside podcast in iTunes. |
